OUR STORY​​

August 2012.  Again I, Angeliki, find myself at one of my favourite haunts in the neighbourhood of Beyoglou in Istanbul -  a dusty, little second-hand goods shop.  Rummaging among the many little "treasures",  my eyes are drawn to an old, threadbare butterfly brooch.  Forelorn and ravaged by time, this butterfly still seems so beautiful to me.  The romantic embroided fabric and the delicate metal design on its wings all hint of a more glorious past - and a very elegant owner.  Immediately, I snap it up  and start to dream of how to bring it back to life.​

                       The solution turned out to be the creative mind and dexterous hands of my childhood friend , Fotoula.  Intensely artistic and with a classical music background,  Fotoula would make this butterfly fly again.  There's a family tradition, too.  In fact,  I'm  sure her grandmother,  who died not so long ago and who was, herself, a weaver of wonderful things, would smile ... and understand.

                        Thus begins the story for Fotoula and me; a journey together to discover and create beautiful jewellery - jewellery inspired by the sights and colours of the exotic and the familiar places of our travels that have touched our souls so much. 

                         Also, as a passionate animal activist,  another inspiration for me is the memory of all the animals that suffer here in Greece and which I try to help.  So,  as a reminder,  some of our jewellery will have cat motifs and other animals, too.

                          Consequently, along with this jewellery,  comes a lot of positive energy and good vibes which we are sure that you will feel when you wear it.   It is real.
